TIPS FOR MAKEUP

- Drink plenty of water for your skin to be hydrated and to have a radiant look.

- Use regularly products to exfoliate skin and to remove dead cells and to help the skin to produce new ones.

- Always, before any makeup, cleanse, tonify, hydrate and protect your skin with products suitable for your skin type. You will create a basis for the foundation which will last so much longer.

- Do not neglect your skin cleansing before bedtime, even if you did not use any makeup product. Clean means, above all, PURIFICATION

- Discard products that have changed color, consistency and /or smell.

- Do your makeup if possible in a good light, if it can be natural.

- Powder darkens the color of foundation. Therefore, choose one with a lighter tone than this or a translucent powder.

- Do not apply excessive powder! Go gently brush over the powder, shake it to remove the excess and then powder your skin with a top down movements. Circular movements will give a shiny skin.

- Do not apply powder on sweaty or glossy (with sebum) skin. You'll clog it. Firstly, remove face sebum with an absorbing sheet.

- To increase adhesion and durability of powder over foundation and to give for skin a fresh look spray lightly the skin with thermal water or mineral water, after powdering.

- Pressed or loose eye shadow will not collect crease in the eyelids if it will create a basis of the same texture. So, do not forget to powder your eyelids before.

- Quality eye shadows have a powder texture as thin, almost creamy.

- Never use very pearlescent eye shadows on wrinkled lids to not exacerbate the problem.

- Never use more than two bright colors to the same makeup as the appearance will be obnoxious and harsh.

- Keep in mind that dark shades decrease and the light shades increase.

- The secret of a successful makeup is color fading and blending. When you apply eye makeup, creating contrasts and shadows, be careful not to see any dividing line between colors.

- Do not use liquid eyeliner on the lower eyelid because it looks rough and may irritate sensitive skin of its. In this area use an eye pencil.

- For a more sensual lips makeup you can use two shades of lipstick (a darker shade and one lighter). Apply the light shade on center the lips and then apply the dark shade around. Use a lip brush to facilitate application and to combine colors. For added shine and volume you can easily apply over lighter lipstick, a shimmering powder dust.

- To make lipstick last longer, apply lip pencil all over the lips. Apply lipstick, put a very thin tissue paper on the lips and apply a loose powder over it. Remove the tissue and then add another layer of lipstick.

- Wash brushes regularly, the makeup sponges and the other accessories as they are a real source of infections and allergies. Use for it a gentle shampoo. Rinse them well. Shake the brushes and let to dry putting them in a glass, with the hair up. If the hair of brushes is natural you may use, after washing with shampoo, a gentle conditioner.

- If your mascara is dry although it is not consumed, until you’ll buy a new one, sink it (tightly closed) a few minutes in a glass of warm water. Never put alcohol into the tube of mascara! Drying mascara is due to improper use or that you left too much open. When you insert the brush into the tube to get more ink, move it gently into the mascara tube around the inner walls. Back and forth movements will introduce air into the tube and will dry the mascara

- Make-up according to eyes color

         Eyes color is influenced by the amount of melanin located in the iris. Light blue or blue-gray eyes contain the smallest amount of melanin and black eyes (dark brown) the largest amount.

          There are four main eye colors: blue, green, brown and black. Since the amount of melanin varies from person to person, eye color is unique. Thus there are blue eyes, gray, greenish blue, greenish gray, bluish green, spotted with brown or golden brown, greenish brown, golden brown, (honey), light brown, dark brown (black) etc.
        To choose the right eye shadow, start from the basic color of the iris and use makeup that will emphasize it.

            Eye shadow color will be chosen so as to emphasize the color of the iris. As we learned from the color circle, any color is best evidenced by its complementary. Course, makeup must take account of skin color, hair, age, occasion and outfit worn but you must find a balance between these characteristics.

                Blue eyes. Complementary color of blue is orange. Thus, the cold blue of iris will be best emphasized with warm shades of orange, peach, bronze, brown, gold, scarlet. It can use shades of gray, silver, lilac, turquoises. Avoid the blue eye shadow with the same tone color as the iris. You can only use a dark blue eye shadow if the iris is light blue. Black or dark brown eye liner on the upper eyelid will cause a deeper and sexy look. Mascara can be both black and dark brown.

          Green eyes. Green complementary color is red. But do not use red eye shadow if you don’t want to show as if you have irritated eyes. Best eye shadow colors for green eyes are those that contain the red pigment in composition: purple, orange, pink, plums, brown. Green eye makeup can be done with a broader range of colors than the blue eyes. Avoid green eye shadow, which will hide the beauty of iris. Eye liner and mascara should be black.

         Hazel eyes. Brown, being a neutral color matches a variety of colors. If you want to emphasize the beauty and warmth of brown iris you can use the most suitable colors: blue, purple, plum, lilac, khaki, brown, orange, gold. If the eyes are greenish brown use the eye shadow colors that emphasize the green color of the iris. Choose cool colors if your skin tone is cool and warm colors if it is warm. Mascara can be both black and brown.

   Black eyes. The beauty of black eyes (dark brown) will be emphasized by dark tones of blue and purple but you can also use plum, gray or black. Mascara will always be black.

COLOR IN MAKEUP

      To understand color, first you must know some basics. Of course there are many colors, tones and shades, but for knowing how to combine, it's good to know their origin.

      We start with the circle colours:

      First, there are independent primary colors, which are not obtained by combining other colors:

      By combining them in equal proportions, two by two, we get the secondary colors:
Red + Yellow =Orange
Red + Blue =Violet
Yellow + Blue =Green
      Thirdly, we have tertiary colors resulting from mixing a primary color with an adjacent secondary color, on circle colours:
Red + Orange = Orange red (reddish orange)
Red + Violet = Purple, Cyclamen (red-purple or reddish purple)
Yellow + Orange = Gold
Yellow + Green = Yellow-Green (yellowish green)
Blue + Green = Turquoise (greenish blue or bluish green)
Blue + Violet = Indigo, Ultramarine (bluish violet)

      The contrast of color is formed by complementary colors. It is known that the spectrum of light is composed of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet (ROYGBIV). Each color of the spectrum is complementary to the other.

      The strongest contrast is formed by a color and its opposite on the color circle:

Primary complementary colors:

Secondary complementary colors:

         A color is highlighted if it is near its complementary color. Thus, we can infer and observe that, for example, a green eye makeup can successfully use a red lipstick. Or, if the eyes are blue, their color will be highlighted by an orange-colored lipstick.

      Two complementary colors mixed together will result in a neutral color (gray). Therefore, camouflage imperfections will be using complementary colors. For example, a red stain on the skin will hide very well with a green color corrector (green is the complementary color of red), purple circles will be camouflaged by a corrector with yellow pigment, and so on.

      The strongest contrast occurs between the primary colors.

      We can speak of the contrast between white and black, although are not colors, these have a particular importance in the makeup. White highlights and black darkens and deepens. If you put together a color white, although increases it, white decreases the brightness of color. Instead, black will highlight the color.

      However, if you mix white with any color, the color will cool and discolor. It will get a tint (red + white = pink). Mixed with black, the color will darken and will lose its brightness, obtaining a shadow (orange + black = rusty). By mixing white and black will result in neutral gray and if joined a color, it will not change the color intensity. It will get a tone (purple + gray = lilac). Gray is a cool color but adding yellow, red or brown, it will warm. Two colors that have a common pigment, such as green and blue, placed side by side will appear mixed. They are called harmonized colors.

      It is also necessary to know that on the circle colors are cold colors and warm colors. What are they and what is their role?
      Warm colors are those between yellow and red violet (purple or cyclamen-colored): yellow, orange yellow, orange, red, orange red, brick-red, chocolate, brown, red violet.
      Cold colors are included on the circle between yellow-green and purple: yellow-green, green, turquoise, blue, navy, purple, lilac, fuchsia.
        The warmest color is red-orange (reddish-orange) and the coldest is blue violet (indigo).
      Joining a cold and a warm color will create a contrast that will give the optically effect of close-away or big-small. If you join two hot colors will cool them and joining two cool colors, both of them will seem warmer.

      Neutral or earth colors are black, grays and browns. They are obtained by the following mixture:
• Three primary colors
• Two secondary colors
• All primary with all secondary colors.

         When choosing colors for eye makeup should be aware of your skin tone, cold or hot. To find out what kind of skin you have, look at your veins of the your wrist, in natural light. If they have a purple -blue color then your skin is cold. If these veins are green, your skin is warm.
         From color range suitable for your iris color choose warm colors for warm skin and cool colors for cool skin. You will notice that your eyes will be harmonious highlight.

- Lip make-up

   Like eyes, lips catch the eyes of interlocutor. Their properly makeup will consider their form, the eye makeup, teeth color, age, occasion and so on.

      Lips care should not be neglected. They should be soft, smooth and hydrated to be beautiful and seductive. A beautiful smile is emphasized by the appearance of lips.
      Correction lip makeup requires covering with a thin layer of foundation and a light powder dust. Thus, color lips will be "nude", which will facilitate the corrections and will give resistance for lipstick.

- Thin lips will shape with a pencil, almost invisible outside the natural line. Lipstick color will be glossy and bright;

- Thick lips will perfectly outline inside the natural lip contour. If lips are large, the contour line must be drawn not just by the corner of the lips and they are small, it will easily exceed the corner, almost imperceptibly. Lipstick must be matte;

- Lips with downward corners will be shaped to give a bottom part of the upper lip. Avoid the lips corners. Lipstick must have a bright color.

- Asymmetrical lips must be shaped to correct the defect and to obtain the correct proportions. Lipstick should be glossy.

- Wrinkled lips will outline exactly on their natural line. It will use matte lipsticks or slightly pearly, pastel colors. Too much pearly emphasizes wrinkles so it is avoided.

- Eye make-up

      Eyes are the most important interest area of face. Their ideal form is the almond with the eyelid visible along the entire eye. Eyes makeup will follow an almond-shaped to all types of eyes.
      There are following types and shapes of eyes:

  • Wide-Apart Eyes → Distance between eyes is greater than the length of the eye. To make them look closer, will be applied a medium to dark shadow near the inner corner of the eyes and a lighter color on the outer corner. Eyes should be completely line from inner to outer corner. Eyebrows must be close;

  • Close-Set Eyes → Distance between the eyes is less than the length of the eye. On the inner half of the eyelid will be applied a light color and one darker on the outer half. Line the eye starting from the middle eyelid outwards;

  • Deep-Set Eyes → Upper eyelid is hardly seen. Apply a light eye shadow (pale pink, peach or pearly beige) over the eyelid, which will extend to eyebrows. To make eyes look bigger, will increase the crease with medium colored shadow that will fade slightly up to the brow bone. It will emphasize the inner corners with a highlighter;

  • Protruding eyes → As protruding upper eyelid, it will uniformly cover with a medium or dark color, usually matte. If the lower eyelid is also prominent, will be applied makeup on that area. On the eyelid crease to eyebrow will apply a light pastel hint color. You can apply a dark khôl pencil on conjunctiva of lower eyelid to make eyes look smaller;

  • Small eyes → Apply a light color on the entire upper eyelid. To make eyes look bigger, apply a darker shade on the crease, blending well. The outer corner of the eyelid may be emphasized by a dark shadow. On the brow bone will apply a very light eye shadow or a highlighter;

  • Round eye →It is intended to lengthen optically the eyes . For this, eye makeup will be applied on the upper eyelid and extends to the temples, slightly upward. Using an eyeliner draw a line upward from the middle of the eyelid and extending it slightly beyond the eye;

  • Hooded eyes → Droopy lid will be mask with a mat darker eye shadow. In the inner half of the eyelid will be apply a light color, even pearl. Bottom line of the lower eyelid will be extended with an eyeliner pencil. Apply a pastel shade under the brow.

  • Asian eyes - To emphasize the eyelids apply a bright shadow in the inner half closest to nose. Then, apply a darker shade in the outer half. Blend well. Finish with a light shade on the brow bone.

  •       Do not ever apply pearl makeup on prominent parts of the eye. Thus, if eyelid is more visible than the arcade, illuminate the arcade and if eyelid is hidden and arch is wider, illuminate the eyelid. Try to create a balance scale playing with lights and shadows.

    - Face makeup

          Knowing your face shape is very important in the makeup application and for implementation of the corrective makeup, aesthetically correct. It should be borne in mind that dark shades decreases and the light colors increase and highlight. For correction are using two shades of foundation: one with the skin color and another one darker or lighter, depending on the type face.

         There are distinguished seven types of faces:

    1-Oval face → It is the perfect type of face; the other types must be corrected so as to bring this form. Makeup, however, will take into account the shape of eyes, lips and eyebrows.

    2-Round face → Corrective makeup should do the face appear more elongatedUse a darker foundation on the cheek side almost to the chin, taking care to fade very well.
        Blush will be to create the illusion of lengthening the face. It will be applied from cheeks and close to the eyes, blending it obliquely to the temples.
             Eyebrows must be upward.

    .

     3-Square face → Aim is to make the face appear round. Thus, projections of the face (outside parts of forehead and lower jaw) will be slightly darker with a darker foundation, blending carefully.
            Blush will be applied on the cheeks, near the eyes, in the form of a triangle pointing to the temples.
            Eyebrows will have a curved shape.

    4- Elongated face → Corrective makeup is to make the face look wider and more rounded. To do this, use a foundation with a lighter tone on lower jaw and on each side of the forehead, blending it very well.
           Apply a highlighter on the cheek. Blush should be applied on the cheeks, in direction of pupils, blurred in horizontal direction.
            Eyebrows will have almost horizontal shape.

    5-Diamond face → this form of face has some areas (the lower jaw, cheeks, forehead and temples) less prominent.
            Apply a foundation on these which is a lighter tone and blend it thoroughly.
            Blush should be applied in the oval shape on the upper cheekbone.
          Eyebrows should be slightly apart and arched in direction of cheekbone.

    6-Triangle face pointing up (pear-shaped)→ Apply a foundation with a darker tone on the jaw line that is wider towards the forehead.
             Blush application will be taken from the external corner of the eye, rectangular shaped, dimmed to the temples.
           Eyebrows will be more distant, to make the forehead appear wider.

    7- Triangle face pointing down (heart-shaped face)→ Obviously, it will follow the lower jaw and cheeks appear wider. For this features a lighter foundation must be apply in these areas.
            Blush will be applied on cheeks (which are most prominent), in direction of eyes pupils, slightly upward to the temples.
                 Eyebrows will be upward to give bright eyes.

             Double chin (goiter) will be masked with a darker foundation, well blended.
